James Hogan Dies
Sad to see him go... James Hogan was a great Science Fiction writer (regardless of what crazy things he beleived in). If you haven't had a chance to read his book "Inherit the Stars", definitely check him out. Its a murder mystery on the Moon. A 50,000 year old dead astronaut is found on the moon... A real page turner!

American Stonehenge
The strangest monument in America looms over a barren knoll in northeastern Georgia. Five massive slabs of polished granite rise out of the earth in a star pattern. The rocks are each 16 feet tall, with four of them weighing more than 20 tons apiece. Together they support a 25,000-pound capstone. Approaching the edifice, it's hard not to think immediately of England's Stonehenge or possibly the ominous monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Built in 1980, these pale gray rocks are quietly awaiting the end of the world as we know it. Called the Georgia Guidestones, the monument is a mystery—nobody knows exactly who commissioned it or why. The only clues to its origin are on a nearby plaque on the ground—which gives the dimensions and explains a series of intricate notches and holes that correspond to the movements of the sun and stars—and the "guides" themselves, directives carved into the rocks.

Watchman Short
While it’s entirely possible that fans may never see Watchmen on the originally planned date of March 6th, 2009, we can all at least bask in glory of this 4 minute short presented by director Zack Snyder and cry a little knowing the film’s day on the silver screen won’t come soon enough. Hit the jump to watch the featurette and keep checking back for more updates on the official film release!
Watchmen Exclusive
Here's a "behind the scenes" featurette. I didn't know Jackie Earl Haley was playing Rorschach. For those that don't remember him he played Kelly in the original Bad News Bears. Nice to see him coming back strong.

The James Dean Guide to Being a Body Language Bad*ss
James Dean is an iconic figure of legendary proportions. He was a paragon of coolness who occupied the middle ground between normalcy and anti-social rebellion. He took up lots of space (both physical and psychological) and his body language simultaneously conveyed extreme confidence and boyish vulnerability. Here is a list of James Dean's 7 Rules for Being a Body Language Bad*ss.In Summary . . .
Lean on Stuff While Standing,
Get as Horizontal as Possible While Sitting,
Assume an Open Posture
Take up lots of space,
Master the Confident Gaze/Fearless Stare/Scowl,
Talk Slowly,
Smile Strategically (No Sycophantic Smiling)

The World's Most Important 6-sec Drum Loop
This fascinating, brilliant 20-minute video narrates the history of the "Amen Break," a six-second drum sample from the b-side of a chart-topping single from 1969. This sample was used extensively in early hiphop and sample-based music, and became the basis for drum-and-bass and jungle music -- a six-second clip that spawned several entire subcultures. Nate Harrison's 2004 video is a meditation on the ownership of culture, the nature of art and creativity, and the history of a remarkable music clip.

Che Remembered 40 Years After Death
The 40th anniversary of revolutionary Che Guevara's death is Tuesday, October 9th. Regardless, if you feel he is a hero or low down commie, it still is a historical event worth remembering. Personally, I find it ironic that his image is a multi-million dollar industry which is totally contrary to his beliefs. I also like his quote "Hasta la victoria siempre." Basically it means 'always unto victory', which has always inspired me just on it's face value.
