Drink American!
Coors, Miller, and now Anheuser-Busch are owned by foriegn companies; Pabst Brewing, maker of Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) is now the largest American owned brewery in the country. Here's a list of the top ten American Owned breweries. I'm also proud to say that Spoetzl Brewing (which brews a personal favorite of mine Shiner Bock) is number 7 on the list. Looks like I'm going to have to start picking up a case of PBR every now and then to support our American owned breweries.

Forget gas prices: Beer is going up
Small brewers from Australia to Oregon face the daunting prospect of tweaking their recipes or experimenting less with new brews thanks to a worldwide shortage of one key beer ingredient and rising prices for others. Brewmasters say shortage of barley and wheat will raise beer prices. Fans of boutique beers will be hardest hit.

Binge Drinking 'led to four-week hangover'

Half a Million for One Bottle of Beer
A full bottle of Allsopp’s Arctic Ale, brewed and bottled in 1852, sold recently on eBay for a record $503,300. Sir Edward Belcher led an arctic expedition in 1852 to search for the lost explorer Sir John Franklin. The Expedition needed a brew that could withstand arctic and sub arctic temperatures, and provide a degree of sustenance and nutritious value.
