BluePolitix
For a long time, I really tried not to post any political blog entrys for the basic reason that LLCoolDave, isn't meant for that serious a subject. LLCoolDave was primarily my outlet for humor, creativity and things that interest me. Occasionally I would post a political entry but I really didn't like doing it. Well now I have an entire separate blog for politics, my philosopy and any thing else that I think warrants attention. BluePolitx, is the name of my new political blog. It's definitely left of center, hence the name... Check it out, I welcome calm rational debate and discussion on political topics.

Deceiving the U.S. on Iran
"We have either a president who is too dishonest to restrain himself from invoking World War Three about Iran at least six weeks after he had to have known that the analogy would be fantastic, irresponsible hyperbole -- or we have a president too transcendently stupid not to have asked -- at what now appears to have been a series of opportunities to do so -- whether the fairy tales he either created or was fed, were still even remotely plausible. A pathological presidential liar, or an idiot-in-chief. It is the nightmare scenario of political science fiction: A critical juncture in our history and, contained in either answer, a president manifestly unfit to serve, and behind him in the vice presidency: an unapologetic war-monger who has long been seeing a world visible only to himself."

New sport truck from Pontiac's Austrailian Holden division evokes the nostalgia-crazed El Camino. Will it become a reality? GM officials say that it's likely, as long as the dollar doesn't continue to drop.

C'était un Rendezvous
C'était un Rendezvous is the creation of the French filmmaker Claude Lelouch in 1976. Using a Mercedes 450SEL early one August morning, Lelouch attached a camera to the bumper of the car and sped straight through the heart of Paris. The driver is still unknown to this day, because Lelouch was never able to obtain a permit to close the streets. The driver, who Lelouch told officials was an F1 racer, went over the speed limit and blew off many red lights. When this film was first shown, Lelouch was arrested, and because of this, the footage has spent many years underground before it began to resurface on DVD a few years ago. Watch it till the end, and you'll see exactly what he was in such a hurry for. A very satisfying ending!

LLCoolDave's Top Ten James Bond Songs
I posted this list because I've often thought what my favorite Bond Songs are. I have to admit it was kind of tough but I think I made a good list. Any songs you think deserve to be on my top ten? Any songs you think should have been left off? What are your top ten Bond songs? Leave me a comment...
10 License to Kill - Gladys Knight
License to Kill is probably one of the more forgettable movies in the Bond franchise. The theme song however, is actually very good. Good enough to be number ten on my list. Gladys Knight starts the song off rather slow and methodical but the passion and the emotions rise as the song winds it's way through to a strong emotional climax. Overall probably the most underrated song of all of the Bond themes...
"I've got a license to kill,
and you know I'm going straight for your heart!"
"I've got a license to kill,
anyone who tries to tear us apart!"
9 We Have All the Time in the World - Louis Armstrong
The title of the song says it all. A slow moving song, with it's opening guitar and gorgeous strings, it's in no hurry to get to the end. Armstrong takes us for a long liesurely ride on love that's built to last.
"We have all the time in the world
Just for love
Nothing more
Nothing less
Only love,
Only love..."
8 Nobody Does it Better - Carly Simon
The lyrics is the reason why 'Nobody Does it Better' made it to number 8. Because of this song, I fantasize that there are women still out there thinking about me in this way.
"Nobody does it better,
Though sometime I wish someone could,
Nobody does it quite the way you do,
Why'd you have to be soooo good?"
Nuff said...
7 View to a Kill - Duran Duran
One of the great hits of the 80's, this Bond song was worthy effort by Duran Duran. The lyrics are quite poetic.
"The first crystal tears
Fall as snowflakes on your body,
First time in years,
To drench your skin with lover's rosy stain.
A chance to find a phoenix for the flame,
A chance to die, but can we..."
6 For Your Eyes Only - Sheena Easton
Another great twist on the world of espionage as it relates to the world of love. Who knew "Classified, Eyes Only" would have such a meaning in love?
"For your eyes only, can see me through the night.
For your eyes only I never need to hide.
You can see so much in me, so much in me that's new.
I never felt until I looked at you.
For your eyes only, only for you."
5 Diamonds are Forever - Shirley Bassey
An absolute classic, Dame Bassey really tells the tale of a girl who's been burned in love one too many times and now is in love with diamonds.
"I don't need love,
For what good will love do me?
Diamonds never lie to me,
For when love's gone,
They'll luster on..."
4 007 - John Barry & His Orchestra
Starting off like a cheesy evening news theme, 007 turns into an instrumental tour de force that screams "Bond to the Rescue!"
3 Moonraker - Shirley Bassey
Shirley Bassey's underrated of all of her Bond songs, Moonraker with its sweeping string movements excellently manages to convey a deep longing for the perfect lover only found in one's dreams. The instrumental version of this song is currently being used to promote tourisim to the Dominican Republic.
"I've seen your smile,
In a thousand dreams,
Felt your touch,
and it always seems you love me, you love me..."
2 James Bond Theme - Monty Norman Orchestra
There is really no words to describe the awesomeness that is James Bond.
1 Goldfinger - Shirley Bassey
In my Bachelor days, I used to play this song when getting dressed to go out for the evening. The song itself is a testament to what a great singer paired with a great song can produce.
"Pretty girl beware of His heart of gold,
His heart is cold
He loves only gold,
Only gold...."

Neodymium Magnets: The most powerful magnets on Earth
The magnets here are very powerful, much more powerful than magnets most people have seen, and need to be handled with proper care. The magnetic fields from these magnets can affect each other from more than 12 inches away. Our larger magnets can easily bruise fingers and even break finger bones as they attempt to connect together. Always wear protective eyewear or safety goggles when handling the magnets. Keep magnets away from any magnetic based storage devices such as desktop or laptop computers, hard drives, floppy disks, cassette tapes, VHS tapes, or credit cards. A distance of at least 12" should be kept between magnets and these items at all times. Keep them away from computer monitors, VCR'S and TV's, non-electronic wrist watches etc. If you or someone in your household has a PACEMAKER or another electronic surgical implant, don't even think of ordering these items.

SDSS Image of the Week Archive
The Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), the most ambitious astronomical survey project ever undertaken, the task of mapping the universe and determining our place in it. SDSS is systematically mapping a quarter of the entire sky, producing a detailed image of it and determining the positions and absolute brightnesses of more than 100 million celestial objects. It is also measuring the distances to a million of the nearest galaxies, giving us a three-dimensional picture of the universe through a volume one hundred times larger than that explored to date. SDSS is also recording the distances to 100,000 quasars — the most distant objects known — giving us unprecedented knowledge of the distribution of matter to the edge of the visible universe.

Che Remembered 40 Years After Death
The 40th anniversary of revolutionary Che Guevara's death is Tuesday, October 9th. Regardless, if you feel he is a hero or low down commie, it still is a historical event worth remembering. Personally, I find it ironic that his image is a multi-million dollar industry which is totally contrary to his beliefs. I also like his quote "Hasta la victoria siempre." Basically it means 'always unto victory', which has always inspired me just on it's face value.

Nobody knows what this Lamborghini is, other than "really, really, hot." Intimidation on the Rugby Field
The All Blacks, the international rugby union team of New Zealand, perform a haka (Māori traditional dance) immediately prior to international matches and has done so since the first New Zealand rugby team to tour overseas in 1884. I don't know what the words mean, but you can safely bet that it means something along the line of "prepare yourselves for an old fashioned beat down".
