Stinky Dink - One Track Mind

This song reminds me of my first year living in the DC area (Arlington, VA to be exact). It was the bomb song back in the day. Ahh, to be 20 and single again.

100 Things Your Kids May Never Know About

With the constant progress of technology, today's children will grow up not knowing certain realities of life that were commonplace just barely 10 years ago, such as sending film away to be processed and having physical prints of photographs come back to you. So without further ado, here is a list of 100 Things Your Kids May Never Know About. If you have some free time, click on the link in #3 and see what happens when you give a Walkman to today's teenager.

Ground Zero II

Have you ever wondered what would happen if a nuclear bomb goes off in your city? With Google's Maps framework and a bit of Javascript, you can see the outcome. And it doesn't look good...

Choose from a Russian Tactical Suitcase Bomb (1 Kiloton) all the way up to the Tsar Bomba (50 Megatons), the largest man-made explosion so far, and even beyone to the Chicxulub Asteroid Impact which is thought to have caused the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Modern Cavemen

Amazing home built in a 17,000-square-foot gouge in the earth left by a 1930s sandstone mine. It’s Tom Sawyer country in Festus, Mo., just a few miles from the Mississippi River, and the house is also 45 feet under a forest (and a neighbor’s home).

American Stonehenge

The strangest monument in America looms over a barren knoll in northeastern Georgia. Five massive slabs of polished granite rise out of the earth in a star pattern. The rocks are each 16 feet tall, with four of them weighing more than 20 tons apiece. Together they support a 25,000-pound capstone. Approaching the edifice, it's hard not to think immediately of England's Stonehenge or possibly the ominous monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Built in 1980, these pale gray rocks are quietly awaiting the end of the world as we know it. Called the Georgia Guidestones, the monument is a mystery—nobody knows exactly who commissioned it or why. The only clues to its origin are on a nearby plaque on the ground—which gives the dimensions and explains a series of intricate notches and holes that correspond to the movements of the sun and stars—and the "guides" themselves, directives carved into the rocks.

Raw Footage of Hudson River Miracle

The US Coast Guard has just released this raw footage of US Airways Flight 1549 crash landing into the Hudson River. The Airbus A320 had 155 passengers on board. My hats off to both the Pilot for his coolness under pressure and the Ferry Boat Captains who rushed to the scene in as little as three minutes.

Watchman Short

While it’s entirely possible that fans may never see Watchmen on the originally planned date of March 6th, 2009, we can all at least bask in glory of this 4 minute short presented by director Zack Snyder and cry a little knowing the film’s day on the silver screen won’t come soon enough. Hit the jump to watch the featurette and keep checking back for more updates on the official film release!

Watchmen Exclusive

Here's a "behind the scenes" featurette. I didn't know Jackie Earl Haley was playing Rorschach. For those that don't remember him he played Kelly in the original Bad News Bears. Nice to see him coming back strong.
