The Ten Oldest Bars in the US
I am proud to say that I got plastered (many times over when I worked for the US Treasury Dept) at the Old Ebbit Grill, number 4 on the list of the Ten Oldest Bars in the US.

Fidel Castro and Stroh's Light
This is the kind of hard nose negotiations we need to bring about democracy in Cuba.

BluePolitix
For a long time, I really tried not to post any political blog entrys for the basic reason that LLCoolDave, isn't meant for that serious a subject. LLCoolDave was primarily my outlet for humor, creativity and things that interest me. Occasionally I would post a political entry but I really didn't like doing it. Well now I have an entire separate blog for politics, my philosopy and any thing else that I think warrants attention. BluePolitx, is the name of my new political blog. It's definitely left of center, hence the name... Check it out, I welcome calm rational debate and discussion on political topics.

Deceiving the U.S. on Iran
"We have either a president who is too dishonest to restrain himself from invoking World War Three about Iran at least six weeks after he had to have known that the analogy would be fantastic, irresponsible hyperbole -- or we have a president too transcendently stupid not to have asked -- at what now appears to have been a series of opportunities to do so -- whether the fairy tales he either created or was fed, were still even remotely plausible. A pathological presidential liar, or an idiot-in-chief. It is the nightmare scenario of political science fiction: A critical juncture in our history and, contained in either answer, a president manifestly unfit to serve, and behind him in the vice presidency: an unapologetic war-monger who has long been seeing a world visible only to himself."

Che Remembered 40 Years After Death
The 40th anniversary of revolutionary Che Guevara's death is Tuesday, October 9th. Regardless, if you feel he is a hero or low down commie, it still is a historical event worth remembering. Personally, I find it ironic that his image is a multi-million dollar industry which is totally contrary to his beliefs. I also like his quote "Hasta la victoria siempre." Basically it means 'always unto victory', which has always inspired me just on it's face value.15 September 2007
Greenspan Is Critical Of Bush in Memoir
Alan Greenspan, who served as Federal Reserve chairman for 18 years and was the leading Republican economist for the past three decades, levels unusually harsh criticism at President Bush and the Republican Party in his new book, arguing that Bush abandoned the central conservative principle of fiscal restraint. While condemning Democrats, too, for rampant federal spending, he offers Bill Clinton an exemption. The former president emerges as the political hero of "The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World," Greenspan's 531-page memoir, which is being published Monday.

What exactly is Patriotism?
During the ongoing debate in Congress over the war in Iraq, some Republicans have reacted to Democratic criticism of President Bush's War on Terror policy by doing what they usually do: implying, if not stating outright, that liberals are unpatriotic and simply do not love their country as much as conservatives. But what exactly is patriotism?
